Sales and Marketing books mean nothing if you do not implement them properly...

I have a lot of sales and marketing books. Mainly because every time I would fly, I would purchase a new book to read. I have tried learning so many sales techniques over the years and surprisingly many of the oldies are goodies. The Kiss (Keep it simple, SMART) method, last one to speak losses, "Feel, Felt, Found," Yes method and more. But times change and so much you. One of my favorite books about change is "Who moved my cheese." You will notice from the picture below, of my book collection, that I really like Ken Blanchard.

I have managed individuals for almost 15 years and the most important lesson I have learned is that they are all different. I used to always say at Bluegreen that as a manager, I cannot motivated you (that is something you must have within you) but I can hopefully inspire you to cultivate that motivation. I used to send out daily quotes and weekly messages on how to have a good day at work. It was about reminding people that you define the outcome most of the time. My favorite quote is by Charles Swindoll (I used to have it completely memorized) but my favorite line is " Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. " We can change our outlook and turn a bad day around. I try my best to live my life this way but we all are flawed and sometimes we just need a day. The point is, don't let change get you down because the only three things you can count on in life for sure, to quote my father, is death, taxes and change (And that is the one thing we can change!)!
